About KHA

The Kinsley Housing Authority was built in 1968. This three-story building includes 31 units, that consist of efficiency studios, one-bedrooms, large one-bedrooms, and two-bedroom apartments. Since KHA's inception, it has been a part of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), as a Public Housing Agency, and serves the community with low-income housing. 

Eligibility is Based on:

1) Annual gross income; 

2) Whether you qualify as elderly (62+), a person with a disability, a single adult (18+), or family;

3) U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status

Do You Qualify for Housing Assistance

Applicant's yearly gross income can be between 50% - 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) or lower.

Those with lower income will be placed first or those currently living in substandard conditions or homeless.

AMI for Edwards County:

         Below 50%   /   50%      /   80%

   Individual: $13,700   /    $22,800   /   $36,500

 Family of 2: $17,420  /    $26,300    /   $41,700​​

Efficiency (Studio) Apartments

Efficiency otherwise known as a Studio apartment is a cozy one-room apartment. It has one large room with two large windows; a bathroom with a shower, linen closet, and basic amenities; a kitchen that includes a refrigerator and electric stove; this apartment also includes a hall closet, clothing closet, and pantry closet. 

One Bedroom Apartments

One-bedroom apartments are spacious rooms with a large living room with a double-sized window. The kitchen is of the living room and includes a refrigerator and electric stove, a hall closet, and a pantry closet. The bedroom includes a large clothing closet and window. The bathroom is spacious with a shower, linen closet, basic amenities, and a second large closet.


Large One Bedrooms & Two Bedroom Apartments 

Large One Bedroom Apartment

Large one-bedroom apartments are very spacious rooms with a large living room with two windows and a closet. The kitchen is off the living room and includes a refrigerator and electric stove, a hall closet, and a pantry closet. The bedroom is a large room, equaling the size of the living room, and includes a large clothing closet, two windows, a side room that can be used as a storage area, office space, or a nice sitting room. This apartment has two bathrooms, both with a shower, linen closet, and basic amenities.


Two Bedroom Apartment

Two-bedroom apartments have a large living room with a double-sized window. the spacious kitchen includes a refrigerator and electric stove, the entry has a coat closet, and a pantry closet, In the hallway there is a large closet that leads to two bedrooms, a small bedroom, and a master bedroom. They both include a clothing closet and window. A bathroom with a shower, linen closet, and basic amenities.
